Scarecrow Animation
Scene 1:• Open with a few establishing shots of the farm house and the scarecrow out in the
farmers field.
Scene 2:
• Farmer places pie on window sill. He smells the aroma of the pie and looks very
pleased.
• Out of know where bird shit splats on the pie.
• He gets furious and looks up as a crow flies down and picks up some corn, then flies
it over to the scarecrow.
• The farmer eyeballs the crow.
• The Crow kicks back and eats the pieces of corn all cocky like.
• That’s the last straw!! The farmer breaks his wooden spoon in a fit of rage.
• In the same cut the camera pans towards the front door. We hear the farmer
stomping angrily slamming open the front door.
• Farmer stomps over to the scarecrow.
• The crow watches the farmer ignorantly.
• The farmer kicks the scarecrows post scaring away the crows.
• Muttering under his breath the farmer yanks the scarecrow out of the ground.
• He throws the scarecrow into a scrap wood pile.
• Camera cuts to various shots of the farmer piecing together a new scarecrow.
• The farmer walks out and places the new scarecrow in the place of the old one then
walks away.
• The camera pans up to the new scarecrow. The new scarecrow looks over at the old
scarecrow in the scrap pile
• The old one dumbly waves at the new scarecrow.
• The new one hesitates and dumbly waves back.
• Farmer walks back with some more boards.
• Farmer starts to douse the old scarecrow and the wood pile with gasoline.
• Farmer goes to grab some matches
• Cut to the new scarecrow mocking the farmer and emulating his frustrated actions.
• The old scarecrow is entertained by the new scarecrows actions.
• The farmer walks back and strikes a match then throws it on the wood pile.
• In a large burst of flames the wood pile and old scarecrow light up.
• Cut to new scarecrow. The scarecrow is shocked
• Cuts back to the old scarecrow. The burning scarecrow falls over dramatically while
the farmer watches in a sadistic way relishing the moment.
• He watches till the flames go out.
• While the farmer watches the flames go out the crows start to cozy up to the new
scarecrow.
• The farmer looks up and sees the crows.
• The farmer runs over and scares them off.
• He then acts out to the new scarecrow that he’ll be dead if he doesn’t scare away
the crows.
• Fadeout
Scene 3:
• Fade into the next day
• Camera cuts to scarecrow
• Crows are gathering around eating the corn around him
• Farmer sees this and gets mad
• The farmer runs out to the scarecrow and scares away the birds
• The farmer mutters under his breath angrily "If it doesn't scare the crows then I'll
burn it too"
• Stomps off to the tractor to till his fields
• The crows fly down towards the scarecrow
• One of the crows lands on the scarecrows shoulder and caws at him
• Camera cuts to the ground and shows a couple of crows pecking at the corn
• Cuts back to the crow on his shoulder. It looks at him and caws again
• cuts back down to the crows on the ground. They are eating the corn more
aggressively and creatively.
• Cut back to the scarecrows shoulder. The bird on his shoulder now has a piece of
corn. The crow looks at the scarecrow and caws.
• Scarecrow goes into a thought bubble seeing the old scarecrow burning and the
farmer watching sadistically.
• It hits him. He needs to scare the crows or that will be him on fire.
• He goes crazy. knocks the crow off his shoulder and scares them away.
• He Goes into a series of gags that don't really work at scaring the crows.
• He becomes overwhelmed by the crows. The crows are being asses to him now.
• The scarecrow accepts his doomed fate that he is going to be burned for not being
able to scare the crows and breaks down into a depression.
• The hungrily eating corn glance up and see the depressed scarecrow. They start to
sympathise
• The Crow brings an old rag for the scarecrow to use as a handkerchief
• All the other crows start to realise that they were being mean to the scarecrow
• They look over and realize that he will be burnt because he couldn't scare them
away.
• The crows hear the tractor in the background coming back from the fields
• The Farmer pulls up and sees that there are hundreds of crows around the
scarecrow
• He is furious
• The birds see him and start to place the corn back in there stocks and try to erase
the fact that they were there
• The farmer is stomping over to the scarecrow
• All the crows fly away. The fat one struggles to get away
• The farmer boots the fat crow and glares at the scarecrow
• He goes into the farm and grabs the matches and the gas can
• He walks out and starts to splash the scarecrow with gas
• It starts to rain. The farmer is mad and can't light the scarecrow on fire til the next
morning
• The farmer goes inside
• During the night the crows start to plot something
• The scarecrow is still depressed. He starts to get curious as the crows start to pull
scraps and build stuff.
• Fade out to morning
• The farmer slams open his door, grabs the gas can and matches
• He walks over to the scarecrow and starts to douse him with gas.
• The crows start to fly in and are fluttering around
• The farmer bends down and grabs the matchbox. a crow swoops in and knocks it
away
• The farmer is pissed. He bends down and picks up the matches
• The crows start to place the scrap metal and things they build onto the scarecrow
• As the farmer lights the match and turns around a giant metal scarecrow lunges at
him and scares the farmer.
• The farmer gets his things and gets in his car and leaves.
• The crows scare him again and he crashes his car.
